Councilmember Lindsey grew up in Albuquerque New Mexico and attended Del Norte High School, where he won the State Championship as a High Jumper. He went on to compete in Track and Field for Brigham Young University, where he received a BS Degree in Microbiology and Spanish in 1980.
For over 36 years, Councilmember Lindsey has been involved in the business of providing needed medical equipment to hospitals across the country, owning and selling four of his own medical companies in the process. He is active in the business world today as the Senior Vice President for Med One Capital, a national medical equipment provider. Mayor Lindsey served as a missionary in Northern Argentina for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, wherein he has also served as a Bishop and Boy Scout leader. He has always been heavily involved with the youth and Young Single Adults of the church.
Councilmember Lindsey and his wife Nannette are the proud parents of two sons, Eric and Bryce, and two beautiful daughters, Adrienne and Jessica- all products of our wonderful Placentia Yorba Linda Unified School District. They have ten grandchildren, the joy of their lives! Tom and Nannette bought their home in Yorba Linda in 1985 in Travis Ranch, when Yorba Linda Boulevard ended at what is now the Fire Station and Sheriff’s sub-station.Tom became involved in local politics while serving as the volunteer CFO of the Yorba Linda Civic Light Opera, when Civic Light Opera President Virginia DeLand talked him into running for Council in 2000. Subsequently, Tom became involved with the School District as the Chairman of Campaign for Kids, the Measure Y School Bond issue that has allowed modernization of all the schools within the District. Mayor Lindsey was elected to the Yorba Linda City Council in 2010 and 2014 and served as Mayor in 2012 and 2016.
