Councilwoman Haney


Dr. Beth Haney is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Nursing Science at University of California, Irvine, (UCI) and is Past President of the California Association for Nurse Practitioners (CANP). She has many years of experience working with stakeholders in Sacramento regarding legislation affecting health care and nurse practitioners. Dr. Haney was inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners in 2016 for her work in policy and education.

Dr. Haney is a board certified family nurse practitioner who graduated from Loma Linda University with undergraduate and Master’s degrees in 2000 and earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree at University of Colorado, Colorado Springs in 2010. Beth is the owner and founder of a private aesthetics/wellness practice in Yorba Linda since 2006 and is well known in the industry for her expertise and regulatory acumen; consequently serving as an expert witness in a variety of legal cases in both primary care and aesthetics.

Beth developed the first and only UCI inter-professional aesthetic courses for health care professionals and was awarded UCI 2013 Faculty of the Year. Additionally she works in college health and lectures at state and national conferences on primary-care, aesthetics, obesity, leadership and business. Dr. Haney is an author of two chapters in the Wolters Kluwer title, Dermatology Nursing Essentials: A Core Curriculum, 3rd edition (2016), authored a book on aesthetic procedures, Be You-T-Full: Looking Your Best With Botox, Lasers and other Magical Cosmetic Treatments (2012), and has authored several peer-reviewed articles for advanced practice journals.

On a national level, Dr. Haney is on the Primary Care Provider Association advisory board working to improve the nation’s health through obesity awareness and the inclusion of dieticians in addressing the issues surrounding obesity.

Outside of nursing, Dr. Haney serves on the board of the YMCA, Orange County with the goal of promoting the NP profession to state and national organizations that value health promotion and disease prevention through education and programs that encourage optimal health for communities.
