Yorba Linda City Council 2016 Election

Tuesday, November 8, 2016 has been set by the Yorba Linda City Council as the date for the City's General Election to fill three seats on the City Council, each with a term of four years. Persons interested in running for the office of City Council Member for the City of Yorba Linda in the upcoming November election may obtain Nomination Papers and a Candidate Packet from the City Clerk's office beginning Monday, July 18, 2016 at 7:30 a.m.

To be eligible to hold office as a City Council Member, a person must be 18 years old and a registered voter residing within the boundaries of the City of Yorba Linda. Nomination signatures can be collected between July 18, 2016 and August 12, 2016. If any incumbent has not filed Nomination Papers by Friday, August 12, 2016 at 5:00 p.m., the nominating period will be extended to Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. for all interested persons other than incumbents. 

All forms required for nomination and election to municipal office in the City of Yorba Linda are furnished by and filed with the Yorba Linda City Clerk. Although it is not required, it is highly recommended that prospective candidates call ahead to schedule a time to pull Nomination Papers to insure ample time to thoroughly review the filing requirements and answer any questions. The process takes approximately 30 minutes.

The City Clerk's office is located at 4845 Casa Loma Avenue, Yorba Linda, and is open between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on alternate Fridays. For further information, you may call the City Clerk's office at (714) 961-7150.
